Contractor Invoice Template
Separate labor, materials, and approved changes. That makes the bill easy to audit and protects you when the final amount differs from the first estimate.
Contractor line-item structure
- Labor: trade, dates, hours, and rate.
- Materials: quantity, unit price, and markup if the contract allows it.
- Deposit or progress draw: identify the project stage and amount already paid.
- Change order: include the approval number or date.
- Permit, disposal, or subcontractor costs: itemize instead of hiding them in labor.
Before sending
Include the job address, contract or estimate number, license number when applicable, payment methods, and a firm due date. Keep lien and late-fee language consistent with local law and the signed contract.
